The acting is commendable, especially Yvonne Strahovski as Maggie Chenoweth and Caleb Dolden as Arlo Chenoweth
One of a series' strengths lie in the ability to create a sense of tension and intrigue. The first episodes set the stage for a mysterious and paranormal world with the Chenoweths' the animals behave strangely and their electricity goes out. Series' the pace is deliberate, allowing the audience to get to know the characters and their inner lives before diving into the supernatural elements.
However, the series also has its flaws
Strahovski’s performance as a woman struggling with relationship problems adds depth to the series, while Dolden’s performance as a child with a mystical voice in her head adds a chilling element. The supernatural elements can feel underdeveloped and lack originality, as many of the tropes are borrowed from other horror stories. In addition, the series' Focusing on melodrama between people can sometimes overshadow the scares and genre world-building Despite these flaws, ‘A Cup of Tea’.
